Help us Get Out the Vote and increase turnout!
The problem: Registered Democrats outnumber registered Republicans in Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Yet in 2018 we elected a Republican Governor. We elected a Democratic County Executive in a tight race, and were only able to pick up 2 of D30's elected Delegates.
In 2013 a Republican won City Hall by just 59 votes while 773 accessible Democrats who voted in 2009 stayed home.
A success we had was for the first time since the civil rights act, Anne Arundel County voted for a Democratic Presidential Candidate in the 2016 election. How do we repeat that?
The solution: A long-term, micro-targeted Get Out the Vote plan.
Our goal: To increase voter turnout in three high Democratic, low preforming Annapolis precincts in the and 2018 primary and general elections. Each precinct is within the 3rd Congressional District, state legislative District 30A, County Council District 6, in three City wards.
We will talk to these inactive Democrats in these three precincts six times over the next two years - 2020 primary and general elections - and hope to increase voter turnout in the first year by 10 percent.
Please stay tuned as we redouble our efforts for the 2020 Maryland and Anne Arundel County Elections!
