Chris Trumbauer is a lifelong Marylander. He was elected to the Anne Arundel County Council in 2010 to represent District 6. Chris has been a strong advocate for our education system, our environment, good government and our community’s quality of life.
Chris is a proud graduate of the University of Maryland. He worked for nearly ten years as a water quality scientist with the Department of Natural Resources. He left DNR to become executive director of West/Rhode Riverkeeper, a non-profit organization with a staff of five working to protect and restore Anne Arundel County Rivers. His current career job is director of environmental initiatives at The Hatcher Group, a communications firm that works to connect non-profits organizations with policymakers and the media.
Chris serves on the Local Leaders Council for Smart Growth America, the state Critical Area Commission and is a member of the County Disabilities Commission. He also serves on the Legislative Committee for the Maryland Association of Counties, is enrolled in the Academy for Excellence in Local Governance and is a graduate of Leadership Anne Arundel.
He lives in Annapolis with his wife and two young children.
Chris got into politics for all the right reasons. He loves Annapolis, and wants to serve his community. He is running for a second term to represent the greater Annapolis area on the County Council.
