2019 Parren J. Mitchell Dinner with Rep. Elijah Cummings

Join the West County Democratic Club of Anne Arundel County in celebrating the life and legacy of Congressman Parren J. Mitchell. Our keynote speaker will be the Honorable Elijah Cummings, United States Congressman.

Congressman Mitchell was the first African American elected to congress from Maryland. Some of his decedents went on to serve in the Maryland state legislature. Representative Mitchell was a trailblazer in politics and his legacy lives on with the annual Parren J. Mitchell Dinner and Salute. The evening will present an opportunity to view artifacts from Mr. Mitchell's life and his political campaigns. You will also enjoy performances from local children and a variety of artists from our community.

This year we will be celebrating America's Workers and Unions. As April 12, 1954 represents the date of the Brown v. Board of Education v. Topeka, Kansas decision, we celebrate all of America's teachers, workers and Unions that have made America a great country.

Be sure to join us Friday, April 12 at 6:00 in the evening for this elegant affair. The event will be held at the Club Meade on the campus of Fort George G. Meade. Congressman Mitchell himself served at Fort Meade and this venue allows a unique experience for our guests while providing space to accomodate the various talent you will see on display during the event.

All visitors should report to the gate at the corner of Reece Road and MD Route 175 in Odenton. All other gates are for DoD identification card holders only
